In order to generate interest among Clan members in the pleasure of painting landscapes for themselves, I am making this page available for displaying their finished work.

If you wish to display your artwork in this Gallery, photograph your painting with a digital camera, load the image into your computer and send the file to me. It really is that simple! I'll let you know when your picture is displayed on this website.

Liz has submitted this picture, which is one she did a few years ago. It was based on a photo she took while on a trip to Mazatlan, Mexico.

The picture is a monoprint, using mixed media (acrylics and pastels) and an etching press.

Liz painted this scene in acrylics. It was painted from a photograph of a river near Lake Tahoe in California. The colours of the vegetation were quite startling and the swirling waters remind you of Alpine torrents.

The painting is taken from a photo of Swift Falls in Vermont in the northeastern region of the U.S. It was taken after a long, hard winter and the late Spring thaw was finally happening. This area receives a lot of snow in the winter and so the spring and summer months are still cool and the terrain is always green. The air was still cold and brisk and you can see how rapid and swollen the stream is at that time of year. I painted this fairly quickly using acrylics and a cool palette.
